BACnet Device Guides
Points Lists & Setup

How to bring real equipment onto a BMS over BACnet: chillers, rooftop units, boilers, VRF controllers, drives, pumps, valves and routers. Each guide covers what to switch on, the factory addresses and instances, the points a BMS uses, the rule that bites in the field — tested against a simulated device — and a free BACManager workspace to download.

// what every guide has

The same things, device by device

1

Switching BACnet on

The option card, the licence or the menu, and the factory MAC, baud rate and device instance — which is often the same on every unit.

2

The points a BMS uses

Object types, instances and names as the maker gives them, with what to write and what only to read.

3

The rule that bites

Watchdogs that expect a write again, setpoints that only count on a change, routers, request intervals — shown on a simulated device in BACManager, with and without the fix.

// questions

BACnet device guides — FAQ

Where do I find a BACnet points list for my device?+
In the maker's BACnet manual, PICS or EDE list. Each guide here names the document it was made from and lists the points a BMS uses most; the free workspace has them bound and ready.
Do the workspaces work with my device's instance number?+
Yes. Discover your device first; when a workspace reads another device instance, BACManager asks which discovered device takes its place and moves every point over.
Were the guides tested on real equipment?+
They were made from the makers' documents and tested against simulated devices built from those object lists; the pictures say so. Check each guide against your device's firmware before commissioning.
